Bernice Steinbaum by Kristina Sorge

Bernice Steinbaum by Kristina Sorge at Lightbox Media starts to tell an amazing story. All I can say is that I am thrilled beyond words they chose my photo to be a part of this program. Great job Kristina Sorge and Lightbox Media.

Bernice Steinbaum is the classiest gallerist Miami may ever see. She is the subject of numerous newspaper and television reports. Never shy to speak her mind this delightful woman has a voice. She speaks out usually against the grain of whatever the subject is but is the kind of woman who makes a difference in the global art community.

As I photographed her that day I felt a schoolgirl quality that came out in her personality and in her pop-o-graph.

This actually looks like it would be a nice thing. Who wouldn’t want to feel like a million bucks? I think I will book my appointment online!

A Predator or a Voyeur?

When holding a still camera I feel like a #predator because I am looking to “get” the shot.

When holding a video camera I feel like a #voyeur because I am “watching” what is going on in front of me.

Wilhelmina Miami asked me to come make a video of their Season Celebration at the Thompson Hotel. Since a bunch of hot girls and guys would be around how could I refuse.

Wilhelmina Miami were very clear that I was to enjoy the food and unlimited vodka. I was treated just like a guest. A great night with a very classy group of people from a great model agency with obviously beautiful models. #WhereLumixGoes

Roses and Dreams

A beautiful shop on South Beach has me creating fashion shorts for them to use on Instagram. This edit will be cut down to four 15 second edits and posted on the Roses and Dreams Instagram account.

Layne is our model from Wilhelmina Miami and she looks and moves fantastic. I made these videos at my favorite studio in Miami – Little River Studios.

After the videos we shot the look book for the shop.

The Lumix GH4 slo mo option shoots a true 96 frames per second and gives me 4K quality video that looks as good on the web as it does on the big screen.

I started off my career shooting film with Nikons, then went to Hasselblads, then went to a complete Canon digital system. Now I am giving up those cameras and buying 3 Lumix bodies and a collection of the Vario lenses designed for this camera.

I have found a tool that helps my left and right brains work together in pre-visualization mode to imagine the image and give me the technical elements to make the image I see in my head. This is a more solid camera with so many options than any other camera available in the market today. #WhereLumixGoes

Hello World!

To kick off the New Year I plan on trying to post some blogs more regularly tackling topics from my day to day life as it relates to the world’s current affairs. Hopefully my rambling will get out of control! For now check out this short clip from Chat Chow TV interviewing Rachel Dominguez and talking about me, David Siqueiros.
