Biceps, Bums and Boobs Edition

0

When a friend who used to work at Louis Vuitton USA referred me to her friend at Viacomm I was warned that they were looking for a guy who like to have fun!

Comedy Central Africa sent this comedian, Loyiso Madinga, to meet Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson along with the rest of the cast of the then new Baywatch movie.

This project turned out to be my directorial debut for Viacomm and we had a blast. I shot everything except the scenes from the actual movie right here on South Beach!

This is the trailer I made for myself but you can see the edits Viacomm did here. Right now they are the first two videos on that player but as I publish new work they may go down in the line.

Retna for Louis Vuitton

0

“It’s one of the dopest brands in the game!” is how Retna described Louis Vuitton.

I spent 17 days hanging with and photographing this very talented graffiti writer who comes from Los Angeles.

5 cameras running on an average of 18 hours a day and at the end a two camera interview set and later covering the opening event itself.

Miami magazine called the project a neighborhood changer. Craig Robins came by every day to see what was going on and that week Retna was the most photographed person in Miami!

This was one of the best projects I have ever been a part of. The Miami Herald even came by and photographed me video taping Retna. Thank you Louis Vuitton! #WhereLumixGoes

Here are three of my favorite photos of that time period.

Eva Longoria, Deepak Chopra and Joe Corre | Lingerie Miami

0

Eva Longoria, Deepak Chopra and Joe Corre of Agent Provocateur raise money for disadvantaged women by hosting a lingerie runway show in Miami.

I personally cannot think of a better way to raise money to help disadvantaged women.

Without getting too political here – I recently met some feminist who objected to my use of the word “girls” when talking about “women”.

Considering the current landscape, I wonder how much support the #MeToo movement activists would have had for this fabulous event.

You can watch the Lingerie Miami Runway Show in its glorious standard definition glory. It is towards the bottom of the player. This red carpet interview segment and runway show are probably the only SD samples left on this site and that’s because the hosts were all first class and the Agent Provocateur merchandise is out of this world.

Bradley Jacobs | Testimonial

What’s does it mean when someone says something you loved hearing while having a conversation between takes? If you are like me, who is not big on testimonials, you sit tight on the statements until someone asks for a reference. That is what happened and motivated me to put this post together. Here is one of the more unconventional portraits I did that day!

Bradley Jacobs, CEO – XPO Logistics

You know David takes the best portraits of anyone I have ever seen. He really does. You can use that as an endorsement because I completely and 100% believe it.

Charlotte Perriand | La Maison au bord de l’eau – 1934

0

“Charlotte Perriand – La Maison au bord de l’eau” – 1934 Designed in the 1930’s this project was brought to life by Louis Vuitton during Art Basel week in Miami Beach.

This project encompassed 18 days and three cameras. On eight of those days the cameras rolled 24 hours a day. Weather proved to be challenging as did problematic cameras that needed constant monitoring and in one case replacing. This was Louis Vuitton’s Design Satellite in Design Miami at the Raleigh Hotel.

See some other recent work for Louis Vuitton, North America. Most consumers remember 50% of what they see and only 10% of what they read. Contact me for incredible social media and marketing video production at an exceptionally high level.

Remembering Mark Leventhall – R.I.P.

Remembering Mark Leventhall – R.I.P. I shot this clip of Mark Leventhal at Oceandrive’s Volleypallooza in 2003. In the background “Creep” was playing and ironically Rich Santelises is singing the lyrics to Mark while Brendan O’Neill engages in some idle chit chat about James Brown. These were great days with some great people all over south beach.

I would see Mark for years while we were working at clubs like Automatic Slims and MYNT, OceanDrive events and many exclusive private parties.

Our conversations started off about the crowd, the music, the venue but we would always end up talking about our kids. I could tell he was a great dad.

Hey Mark – Hope you like this clip. You are special. Keep spinning man. R.I.P.

Let the cat fights begin!

Thanks to Jerry Powers, the original model agents on South Beach used to get together once a year to watch their models play some volleyball at OceanDrive’s Model Volleyball Tournament called VolleyPalooza.

One year Eric Levin and I decided to chat with the top agents on South Beach before the tournament to get some insight in the rivalry that existed and the results are pretty entertaining. Irene Marie, Michele Pommier, Ron Gerard, Jeff Fuller and (I forgot his name from Wilhelmina) let us all know what they really think about each other.

The model agents talk the talk but the models walk the walk. Check out some uncensored dialogue from the agents and some volleyball action moderated by my buddy James Hyde who was our host that year on this TBT video blog from Digital Pictures.

Philly Kids Got Talent

Been working on a very special project.

Give me a minute and half of your time and check out this young lady who danced a tribute for her grandfather and brother that passed away.

So nice to see kids like this exist today. I loved directing and putting this treatment together!
