Retna for Louis Vuitton

0

“It’s one of the dopest brands in the game!” is how Retna described Louis Vuitton.

I spent 17 days hanging with and photographing this very talented graffiti writer who comes from Los Angeles.

5 cameras running on an average of 18 hours a day and at the end a two camera interview set and later covering the opening event itself.

Miami magazine called the project a neighborhood changer. Craig Robins came by every day to see what was going on and that week Retna was the most photographed person in Miami!

This was one of the best projects I have ever been a part of. The Miami Herald even came by and photographed me video taping Retna. Thank you Louis Vuitton! #WhereLumixGoes

Here are three of my favorite photos of that time period.

Bradley Jacobs | Testimonial

What’s does it mean when someone says something you loved hearing while having a conversation between takes? If you are like me, who is not big on testimonials, you sit tight on the statements until someone asks for a reference. That is what happened and motivated me to put this post together. Here is one of the more unconventional portraits I did that day!

Bradley Jacobs, CEO – XPO Logistics

You know David takes the best portraits of anyone I have ever seen. He really does. You can use that as an endorsement because I completely and 100% believe it.

Utilizing SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING tactics to shape consumers decision making behavior is no longer an experiment.

While 10% of all online consumers remember what they read 50% remember what they see.

After delivering a recent project, my client’s public relations firm wrote this about the end result;

@digitalpicturescorp @davidsiqueiros you make ridiculously good videos!

Jury Duty Video

0

I was selected by ABOTA MIAMI to produce a Jury Service Video for the Miami Dade County Courts.

I learned more about jury service and its critical importance to our way of life making this video than I ever thought I would. Exposed to the people that make our justice system work, I had the opportunity to meet and video tape Harvey Ruvin, Clerk of Courts, Chief Judge Bertila Soto, Judge Jennifer Bailey, Judge Alexander Bokor, Judge Echarte, Judge Butchko and Judge Seraphin. I loved taking this project on from inception to completion and being the one responsible for every detail.

I had the opportunity to shoot the video in courtroom 6-1. Courtroom 6-1 was restored to its original 1926 splendor. The vibe in that courtroom was elegant and historic!

I would like to recognize all of the people that participated in this project, Jeffrey Davis, Michelle Samuelson, Eliott Rodriguez, Harvey Ruvin, Mike Henderson, Luis Montalvo, Eunice Sigler, Mike Cotter and the entire membership of ABOTA MIAMI for allowing me to contribute to my community. It was a pleasure and an honor to have made this video. To all of my trial participants, attorneys, witnesses and jurors – Thank you!

About Miami Dade Courtroom 6-1

Courtroom 6-1 is the most historic courtroom in Miami-Dade County. Once the home of the Criminal Court of Record for Dade County, it hosted nearly every felony case from 1928 until 1962. In 1930, Al “Scarface” Capone was tried in 6-1 (then known as courtroom 630) for perjury. Capone beat the rap, but soon found himself in Chicago facing tax evasion charges. The rest is history.

In February 1933, Guiseppe Zangara attempted to assassinate President-elect Franklin Roosevelt at Miami’s Bayfront Park. Zangara missed Roosevelt, but shot several other people, including Mayor Anton Cermak of Chicago who later died from his wound. Zangara was brought before Judge E.C. Collins in courtroom 6-1 and pled guilty to four counts of attempted murder, including the one against Roosevelt. He was sentenced to 80 years in prison. Thereafter, Cermak died, and Zanagara again appeared in courtroom 6-1. This time, charged with murder, Zangara pled guilty and was sentenced to death by Judge Uly Thompson. He was executed a week and a half later. It was one of the swiftest legal executions in the 20th century.

Charlotte Perriand | La Maison au bord de l’eau – 1934

“Charlotte Perriand – La Maison au bord de l’eau” – 1934 Designed in the 1930’s this project was brought to life by Louis Vuitton during Art Basel week in Miami Beach.

This project encompassed 18 days and three cameras. On eight of those days the cameras rolled 24 hours a day. Weather proved to be challenging as did problematic cameras that needed constant monitoring and in one case replacing. This was Louis Vuitton’s Design Satellite in Design Miami at the Raleigh Hotel.

Bernice Steinbaum by Kristina Sorge

Bernice Steinbaum by Kristina Sorge at Lightbox Media starts to tell an amazing story. All I can say is that I am thrilled beyond words they chose my photo to be a part of this program. Great job Kristina Sorge and Lightbox Media.

Bernice Steinbaum is the classiest gallerist Miami may ever see. She is the subject of numerous newspaper and television reports. Never shy to speak her mind this delightful woman has a voice. She speaks out usually against the grain of whatever the subject is but is the kind of woman who makes a difference in the global art community.

As I photographed her that day I felt a schoolgirl quality that came out in her personality and in her pop-o-graph.

This actually looks like it would be a nice thing. Who wouldn’t want to feel like a million bucks? I think I will book my appointment online!

Roses and Dreams

A beautiful shop on South Beach has me creating fashion shorts for them to use on Instagram. This edit will be cut down to four 15 second edits and posted on the Roses and Dreams Instagram account.

Layne is our model from Wilhelmina Miami and she looks and moves fantastic. I made these videos at my favorite studio in Miami – Little River Studios.

After the videos we shot the look book for the shop.

The Lumix GH4 slo mo option shoots a true 96 frames per second and gives me 4K quality video that looks as good on the web as it does on the big screen.

I started off my career shooting film with Nikons, then went to Hasselblads, then went to a complete Canon digital system. Now I am giving up those cameras and buying 3 Lumix bodies and a collection of the Vario lenses designed for this camera.

I have found a tool that helps my left and right brains work together in pre-visualization mode to imagine the image and give me the technical elements to make the image I see in my head. This is a more solid camera with so many options than any other camera available in the market today. #WhereLumixGoes

A father, husband, family man, publisher, mentor, businessman and boss who pushed me to be the best I could be. I am forever grateful for the chance you gave me and honored to have made this video for you after you fired me and then rehired me.

You are a true maverick and visionary who inspired so many people. One of your greatest gifts was how you made everybody you got to know feel like their relationship with you was special and unique. I’ll miss you man! #RestInPeace
